Penncrest teacher Rob Simpson leads local rock band Self Indulgence

Close on the heels of performances at the Haverford Music Festival, Haverford Heritage Festival, J.D. McGillicuddy’s and Ocean City boardwalk, the classic rock cover band Self Indulgence plays the Double Edge Sports Grille in Newtown Square, Saturday, Nov. 16.
Led by Havertown’s own Rob Simpson on guitar and vocals, the high energy group includes local musicians Anthony Lombardo on sax, Chris Barber on keyboard, guitarist Wally Urbanavage, Chris Caltabiano on bass, and drummer Gordon DiFalco.
Expect to hear a shake it up mix of blues standards like Little Red Rooster, classic hits by Creedence Clearwater Revival, Jimi Hendrix, Grateful Dead, with a few originals by Simpson. Read The Full Article…
Haverford Music Festival a hit thanks to volunteers

“It was an extraordinary day,” said Kelly. “It was wonderful for everybody involved. Performers enjoyed a fantastic crowd. Volunteers did an exemplary job of executing an event that requires so much detail.” Additionally, local restaurants, food vendors and sponsors who set up booths along Darby Road “were extremely happy with the turnout, visibility and marketing opportunities,” Kelly said.
Civic Council president Chris Whiting seemed equally certain that the music fest continues to achieve the Council’s original goal of creating an arts and culture event in Haverford that supports local musicians and serves as a fundraiser for the Council and its member groups. Read the Full Article
